There Is No "National MLS" - Real Estate News

Recent industry chatter around the idea of a “national MLS” is more hype than reality, according to Our President and CEO Cameron Paine. In a new column on Real Estate News, he explains that while some multiple listing services have expanded membership opportunities nationwide, simply allowing agents from across the country to join does not equate to providing comprehensive, accurate, or truly national property data coverage. 

He also suggests the industry is better served by strengthening collaboration among local MLSs to create a more complete and connected data network, while preserving the local expertise that makes those systems valuable.
