Here are some expanded notes on Madison and St. Clair County municipalities. If you see wrong info, or a status change, please advise by emailing rdeedrick@illinois.gov.
Alton: City Hall is shuttered. Call City Hall for limited inspections on a case-by-case basis 618.463.3533 or e-mail Terry Buhs tbuhs@cityofaltonil.com. Payments can be made via City’s website.
Bethalto: City Hall is shuttered. Call City Hall 618-377-7697 Inspections are scheduled 24 hours out. The City will e-mail the occupancy application to an individual, payment and the returned application must be left with the Village Drop Box.
Collinsville: City Hall is shuttered. Call 618-346-5200 ext. 3 or email rtedesco@collinsvilleil.org. Most forms are available online, remember the City has the “as is” provision in it’s occupancy inspections – so this could help out with any transactional issues. Drop boxes are available for payments.
E. Alton: City Hall is shuttered. Call 618-259.1185 or e-mail zoning@eastaltonvillage.org, some limited occupancy inspections are being done
Edwardsville: City Hall is shuttered. Call the Public Works and check City Facebook (new construction, commercial, and unoccupied still ongoing – no rental inspections). Use the City Drop Box for payments.
Glen Carbon: City Hall is shuttered. Call 618-288-2603 to arrange an appointment for an inspection. E-mail permits@glen-carbon.il.us, limited inspections on owner-occupied, no rental inspections are being done. Use the City Drop Box, after appointments have been made for payments.
Granite City: City Hall is shuttered. Call 618-452-6218 inspections are being scheduled 24 hours out. Payments can be submitted via the drop box.
Godfrey: Village Hall is shuttered. Temporary occupancy permits are being issued; buyer will need to obtain inspection at a later date – visit Village Website for the forms.
Troy: City Hall is shuttered. Call City Hall for inspections.
Highland: City hall is shuttered. No rental inspections are being done; new construction inspections continue.
Wood River: City Hall is shuttered. Call 618-251-3100 for inspections (as of 3/24/2020 unclear if inspections are ongoing)
St. Clair County: The County building is shuttered. Call 618-825-2532 to be put on wait list for an inspection (occupancy isn’t being denied). Buyers are being asked to complete the inspections, when normalcy returns.
Swansea: Village Hall is shuttered. Call 618-578-3613 case-by-case basis on an immediate closing (occupancy isn’t being denied). A temporary occupancy will be considered.
Belleville: City Hall is shuttered. E-mail building@belleville.net for “SPECIAL CASES” an immediate closing, re-inspections are on hold.
Fairview Heights: City Hall is shuttered. Call (618) 489-2060 they will inspect unoccupied/vacant structures – will seek virtual ways of doing re-inspects. They are only focusing on critical life-safety issues.
O’Fallon: City Hall is shuttered call city hall or e-mail – they will do virtual inspections (IE Facetime, or Skype) on occupied property, will consider private inspection paperwork (make sure all parties agree to submitting as this paperwork will become public record). Payments can be made via City Drop Box
Lebanon: Call City Hall inspections ongoing, but case-by-case basis. Payments via City Drop Box
Mascoutah: Call City Hall, inspections are being conducted with hazmat suits – Call for payment arrangements.
Columbia: Call City Hall – will issue a temporary certificate of compliance. Inspections will be evaluated at a later date.
